Champions Farewell - Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Announced Retirement from T20I Cricket
India won the title of T20 World Cup 2024. After the win Championship Indian captain Rohit Sharma has also retired from T20 International. He has said goodbye to T20 international cricket shortly after Virat Kohli's retirement.

After winning the T-20 Cricket World Cup 2024, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have announced their retirement from T-20 international cricket. First Virat announced his retirement, then Rohit also announced his retirement.
India won against South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling final of the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup and won their second T20 World Cup title. The star of the show was none other than Virat Kohli, who played a match-winning inning of 76 runs off 59 balls. Apart from them, the bowlers did wonders in the last 5 overs.
However, this title win was bittersweet as Kohli announced his retirement from T20 after receiving the Player of the Match award. Half an hour later, captain Rohit Sharma also gave his decision. Now both of them will not be seen wearing Indian jersey in T20 cricket.
In the press conference after the final match of the T20 World Cup, Indian captain Rohit Sharma confirmed his retirement from international T20 cricket and said, "This was my last match too." Earlier, Virat Kohli had described the final match against South Africa as his last international T20 match.
Virat Kohli, who received the Player of the Match award, stood, looking emotional, yet calm. After the match he addressed the audience and his fans. He said- This was my last T20 World Cup, this is what we wanted to achieve. Kohli's voice was echoing with pride and relief. He further said- One day you feel that you cannot score runs and it happens, God is great. This was my last T20 match to play for India. We wanted to lift that cup.
