Harshit Rana in Test Squad against England: Team India led by Shubman Gill will start the England tour with the first Test starting on June 20 in Leeds. India has to play 5 Tests on this tour. However, before the tour begins, there has been an important change in the Indian squad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had selected a squad of 18 players for the England tour, but the name of one more player has been added to the team for the first Test. This player is none other than fast bowler Harshit Rana. BCCI announced this by issuing a press release on Tuesday.

BCCI said in a statement, 'The Men's Selection Committee has included Harshit Rana in India's squad for the first Test against England in Leeds.' Rana, who was part of the India A team, has joined the team as India begins preparations for the first Test. ' Harshit Rana has been included in the Indian team suddenly. He will play in the Test series against England. He was not selected in the team earlier. But now he is part of the team. He was with the India A team.

Harshit Rana was impressive on his international debut for India in the Border-Gavaskar series. He made his debut in the first Test in Perth, the only Test that India won on that tour. The right-arm quick was impressive with the ball in Perth, picking 3/48 in the first innings and 1/69 in the second.

The 23-year-old also played the second Test match in Adelaide but went wicketless in his 16 overs, while giving away 86 runs. 

Rana was part of the India A lineup for the first unofficial Test against England Lions in Canterbury.

The Indian team in England now has five fast bowlers in the form of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akashdeep and Arshdeep Singh. The team also has two fast bowlers, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shardul Thakur.

The two-time WTC Finalists team India will be missing out on the services of seasoned batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who retired from the Test format last month.
