Punjab Kings's Records in IPL
The record of Punjab Kings in IPL has not been anything special. Like Delhi, Punjab team has also not been able to win even a single title yet. Ponting will be the sixth head coach of Punjab in the last seven seasons.
Punjab team has been able to make it to the playoffs only twice in the history of IPL. For the last 10 years they have not even been able to reach the playoffs. In 2024, the team was ranked ninth on the points table.
Ponting's first task as coach will be to draw up a list of players to retain. Although the Indian board has not yet announced anything about the retention policy, the numbers are still being crunched by all the teams.
