CSK held players list out in front of the IPL 2024 auction; Rayadu and Stokes released
MS Dhoni retained by Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2024

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the reigning champions, will be prepared to defend their Indian Premier League championship. In an attempt to win the trophy for a record-breaking sixth time, MS Dhoni and company have released Ben Stokes, their great all-round player, along with Pretorious, Ambati Rayadu, and other players.
Releasing injured players and investing in young players who can be part of the Yellow Army in the future has been CSK's primary goal.
IPL 2024 auction: Ben Stokes, Dwayne Pretorious, Ambati Rayadu, Kyle Jamieson, Magala, Senapati, Bhagath, and Akash are all released by CSK. Three of the six available spots for the Chennai Super Kings are designated for players from outside the country. A total of eight players have been released.
Ben Stokes, the standout all-around player for the Chennai Super Kings, will be the biggest loss. For the IPL 2024, the English players have chosen not to participate, citing fitness and workload management. It is known that Stokes will require surgery to treat his broken knee and that he will require time to heal.
With an incredible 16.25 crores spent on the top player during the 2023 Indian Premier League, the Yellow Army plans to invest an additional Rs 32.2 cr in players.
