Bangladesh has made a commendable start to the two-match Test series against New Zealand, which is now underway on home soil. In the first game, the hosts won by 150 runs thanks to a devastating bowling effort in the fourth innings. New Zealand will be anxious to recover in the second Test, which begins on December 6. The red-ball match will take place at Dhaka's Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto chose to bat first after winning the toss in the first Test. The Tigers scored 310 runs, led by opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy's 86-run knock.

There was no notable addition to the scoreboard other than Daryl Mitchell's 58. Only four Kiwi batters, including Mitchell, scored more than 20 runs.
