He was then released by Chennai before the mega auction last year. In the mega auction, no team bid Shardul and he remained unsold. Now LSG has associated him with the debut of IPL. Shardul, playing 95 matches in the IPL, has taken 307 runs with the bat and bowling 67 wickets in 61 matches. He took 21 wickets in the 2021 IPL season.
