India started the Asia Cup 2025 with a resounding win and made the first challenge of their campaign look very easy. The match against the United Arab Emirates was not only one-sided but also a clear demonstration of the ability of the Indian players.
Restricting the opposition team to just 57 runs and then achieving the target very quickly is a statement in itself that must have reached the other teams. This result shows that India are not only ready but also stand strongly in the race for the title.
The most impressive performance was by Kuldeep Yadav, who did not give any chance to the opposition batsmen to survive with his deadly spin. By taking four wickets in just 2.1 overs, he completely demolished the middle order of the UAE. His bowling was so accurate that the batsmen neither had any answer nor time to show patience. After this performance, his assessment of 9.5/10 seems absolutely justified.
After this, Shivam Dube put the match completely in India's bag with his bowling. He put more pressure on the opponents by taking three wickets in just two overs. His spell clearly showed control and hunger for wickets, which is why he was given 9/10 points.
On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma did the same thing in batting as the bowlers did. He gave an aggressive start to the innings by scoring 30 runs in 16 balls. His sensational shots ensured that the target was achieved within the power play. So, Sharma is rated 8/10.
Shubman Gill, on the other hand, showed a restrained approach. Even though he faced fewer balls, remaining unbeaten till the end and leading the team to victory shows his calm nature. He receives 7.5/10.
At the same time, Jasprit Bumrah gave an effective start to his comeback, taking early wickets and putting both the direction and momentum of the match in India's hands. The fast bowler receives 7/10 for his display.
Varun Chakaravarthy made the first over memorable with his accurate bowling and ensured a contribution by taking a wicket. He receives 7/10.
Suryakumar Yadav made the right changes as captain and maintained the coordination of the team. He made the victory a formality by hitting a six on the very first ball of his batting. So, the Indian captain gets 6.5/10.
Axar Patel bowled economically and also took a wicket. He gets 6/10.
Although Hardik Pandya did not get many chances in this short match, his presence always gives balance to the team. He gets 5/10.
Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma did not get a chance to bat, due to which their contribution could not be recorded. Still, the entire team performed in such a way that India became one of the strongest contenders of the tournament on the very first day.
