BCCI Announced Team India Squad for Test Series Against New Zealand
IND vs NZ Test Series: The Indian selection committee has picked India's 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match IDFC FIRST Bank Test series against New Zealand.
Team India Squad for New Zealand: India announced a 15-member team against New Zealand. Mohammed Shami did not get a place in this three-Test team under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma. However, Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer Harshit Rana got a place in the reserve team.
There is not much difference between the Indian team that played in the Test series against Bangladesh and the New Zealand team in the series. But there was no vice-captain in that team. Jasprit Bumrah has been made vice-captain against New Zealand. That is, he will be seen in the role of captain Rohit's assistant. By announcing this, perhaps the cricket board gave a hint of the future captain of India in Tests.
Apart from Rohit, the list of batsmen against New Zealand includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Lokesh Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan. The two wicket keepers are Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. There are four spinners in the team. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav are left out of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Apart from Bumrah, the other two pacers in the team are Mohammad Siraj and Akash Deep. In other words, India has taken three pacers and four spinners in the New Zealand series.
There are surprises in the team's reserve list. Four young cricketers will be with the team. Harshit Rana is in that list. Apart from him, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mayank Yadav and Prasiddha Krishna have been kept. Nitish and Mayank made debut in T20 series against Bangladesh. Harshit is yet to debut. He can get a place in the team for the last T20 on Saturday.
