Australia Have Named 14-Member Squad for the 2nd Ashes Test Against England

Australia Squad for 2nd Test of The Ashes 2025-26: The 2025-26 Ashes series has begun. Australia won the first match of the series in just two days. Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series. The second Test of this series will be played in Brisbane from December 4th to 8th. This match will be played with a pink ball. Australia's team for this Test match has been announced, although there have been no changes to this team.

Australia's squad for the second Test also excluded Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Pat Cummins will travel with the team for the second Test as well. According to a Cricket Australia statement, Cummins will travel with the team to speed up his recovery process. Steve Smith will also captain the team in this match.

Cummins has not played in a match since Australia completed a clean sweep of the West Indies in the Caribbean in July, where he first experienced soreness in his back.

Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja has also been retained in the squad. He suffered a back strain in the first Test, which prevented him from batting in the second innings in Perth. He managed just one run in the first innings. He fell awkwardly while attempting a catch during the first Test, which prevented him from batting.

According to Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald, the hosts have “a lot to consider" regarding their batting order for the second Test, and Head said he was “comfortable" in any position.

If Khawaja misses out, then Head could open the innings, and that will allow Australia to include Josh Inglis or Beau Webster as a middle-order batter.

The Gabba Test gets under way on December 4 with Australia looking to ram home their advantage and take a 2-0 lead in the five-Test series.
