Key Stats
49.6 Chris Woakes to Kane Williamson
Chris Woakes to Kane Williamson. Yorker, wide outside off stump moves in front Steer, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Buttler. Chris Woakes holds his nerve and wins it for England by the slimmest of margins. It was a real roller coaster innings with one team on top and then the other but one thing was constant, Kane Williamson. He was outstanding with the bat and was unfortunate to not get his team over the line. His middle-order let him down again though as they were blown away by spin but Mitchell Santner played a handy knock until he was run-out in unfortunate circumstances. This was not a high-scoring affair but these type of games always produce plenty of drama. England take a 2-1 lead into the series as we head to Dunedin. We have had three fantastic games and the two remaining ODIs are set up perfectly.
