Sri Lanka Squads for Test Series against Australia: Sri Lanka's team has announced an 18-member team for the upcoming 2-match Test series against Australia. Three players who are not fully fit have not been included in this Sri Lankan team. Dhananjay de Silva will be seen handling the captaincy for Sri Lanka in this Test series. Sri Lanka will play the first match of this Test series on the Galle ground from January 29, while the second Test match will also be played on the same ground from February 6, after which a 2-match ODI series will also be played between the two teams.

Sri Lankan selection committee has included many experienced and young players in the team for the two Test matches to be played on home soil. After clean sweeping New Zealand in their last Test series, the Sri Lankan team is also preparing to defeat Australia, for which they have announced a strong team.

Before the Test series against Australia, there were doubts about the fitness of Dhananjay de Silva, opener Pathum Nissanka and star batsman Kamindu Mendis. But all three players have now been declared fit.

Left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya and fast bowler Kasun Rajitha have not been included in the team for this series. In their place, leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay, batsman Lahiru Udara and spin bowling all-rounder Sonal Dinusha have been included in the team.

Sri Lanka will field a balanced team under the leadership of captain Dhananjay de Silva. The presence of experienced players like Angelo Matthews and Dinesh Chandimal will strengthen the team, while young players will be expected to perform well.
