New Zealand T20I Squad against Pakistan: New Zealand team had to face defeat in the final of Champions Trophy 2025. With this, the Kiwi team's dream of winning the title after 25 years was shattered. After this defeat, big changes have been seen in the New Zealand team. Actually, New Zealand has announced its team for the T20I series against Pakistan. The command of the Kiwi team against Pakistan has been handed over to Michael Bracewell instead of Mitchell Santner.
Last year when Michael captained the Kiwi team on the Pakistan tour, the series was drawn 2-2. Now in the absence of Mitchell Santner (who will be in India to play IPL), Michael Bracewell will lead the team.
“It’s a great honour and a real privilege to captain your country,” Bracewell said on his captaincy.
“I really enjoyed leading the side in Pakistan last year and we’ve got many players from that squad included for this series as well, which is nice".He added.
Along with regular white ball captain Mitchell Santner, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Bevon Jacobs and Lockie Ferguson are not available for selection due to IPL 2025. Tim Seifert, James Neesham and Finn Allen have been included in the team again. All three did not play the last series due to the T20 league. Spinner Ish Sodhi has also returned to the team. Fast bowler Ben Sears has also managed to return after recovering from injury.
Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke are available for first three games of the series as the team manage the fast bowlers' workloads after the recent ICC event. Matt Henry, who finished as the leading wicket-taker at the tournament despite missing the final through injury, is named for matches four and five though will be subject to further fitness testing.
