Fifteen players have been named in the Indian squad for the ODI tournament, to be played in Dubai between December 12 and 21, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi being the most popular player at the moment. Four players have been selected as standbys. This tournament is crucial in preparation for the Under-19 World Cup, scheduled to be held in January-February next year.
Indian team will be led by 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who captained the Under-19 team on the tour of England in July this year. Vihaan Malhotra has been appointed vice-captain. Vaibhav will once again open the innings and try to give the team a quick start.
The team includes players who were part of the India Under-19 team that toured England this year. This includes wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu, spinner Kanishk Chauhan, and Henil Patel.
