Here is what the Indian Cricket Team are set to do to prepare for the Asia Cup 2025

Team India did not travel for the white-ball series against Bangladesh in August 2025, giving the players almost a month of free time ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. This break may bring relief to the body, but returning to the field after such a long gap is not easy. In such a situation, the team management has made a special plan taking into account the Asia Cup 2025. The players have lost their rhythm due to not getting continuous matches, and that is why they are being prepared in advance.

The BCCI had asked the team if they would like to set up camp in India, but the players had a different opinion. They clearly said that practising in the UAE would be more useful. Therefore, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India will leave for Dubai three to four days in advance. There, they will not only get a chance to get used to the pitch and the weather, but will also get an opportunity to get into the rhythm through practice matches.

The condition of many players is such that they have not been able to play competitive matches for a long time. Abhishek Sharma did not get any chance after IPL 2025, while Suryakumar Yadav has recently returned after recovering from hernia surgery. Sanju Samson did hit a fifty in a friendly match, but at present, he will be busy in the Kerala Cricket League. In such a situation, the team need to regain match fitness.

Meanwhile, the situation of the Pakistan team are completely opposite. They will come after playing a series against Bangladesh and the West Indies. After this, their camp will be held at the ICC Academy, and a triangular series is also scheduled, which includes the UAE and Afghanistan. This will give them practice in more than five matches. It is clear that Pakistan will enter the field well prepared before the Asia Cup.

Opinion:

This break is a double-edged sword for India. On the one hand, the players have had rest, on the other hand, the lack of match practice can put them in trouble in the initial matches. Pakistan will come full of confidence after playing more matches. In such a situation, India will have to take full advantage of the UAE camp; otherwise, the pressure may be felt at the beginning of the tournament.
