Just before the start of the Asia Cup 2025, a big change has been decided on Team India's jersey. Fantasy gaming company Dream11 has suddenly decided to withdraw from the title sponsorship. This move came at the same time as the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025 passed by the Parliament, has now become a law after the approval of President Draupadi Murmu. With the implementation of this law, there is a strict ban on advertising on online gaming companies and games involving real money. For this reason, Dream11 has withdrawn from the sponsorship of Team India.

BCCI's new challenge

According to the report, jerseys with the logo of Dream11 were already printed, but now they will not be used. In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will have to immediately look for a new sponsor. At present, Team India will likely enter the field in the Asia Cup without any title sponsor.

Dream11 replaced Byju's in 2023 and became the main sponsor with a deal of about Rs 358 crore. There was an agreement to pay three crores on domestic matches and one crore rupees on foreign matches. However, now this agreement remains incomplete.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia made it clear that the board will not violate any law. He had said that if something is not allowed, then they will not take steps in that direction. Now the new bidding process will start, but due to the Asia Cup being so close, the lack of time is clearly visible. Team India will leave for Dubai on 4 or 5 September, and the tournament is to start from 9 September.

Dream11's withdrawal has come at an inconvenient time for Team India. The emptiness on the jersey will be clearly visible before a big tournament. However, BCCI's compulsion can be understood because the new law does not leave any scope for exception.
