Team India's Bowling Coach Morne Morkel has left the Team before the Champions Trophy 2025

Indian Bowling Coach Morne Morkel Left the Team: Team India is currently in Dubai and is preparing for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Meanwhile, big news related to the team is that Team India's bowling coach Morne Morkel is likely to leave Dubai. If he has not left Dubai yet, then he is going to do so soon. The reason behind Morne Morkel's return home is a personal emergency. Morkel arrived in Dubai on 15 February with the Indian cricket team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He was in India during the ODI series. He even attended the team's afternoon practice session at the ICC Academy on February 16. However, now he is returning to South Africa.

According to a report in the Times of India, Morkel did not join the team's practice session on Monday (17 February). The entire squad was present, but Morkel was missing from Team India's first net session under lights. It is not clear at this time when he will join the team again or whether he will be available for the Champions Trophy. The Indian cricket team has now got a day's break. There is no net session on 18 February, but the players can be seen practicing again on 19 February.

Morkel’s absence is a setback for India. The Indian team is set to start its campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Thursday, February 20, against Bangladesh in Dubai. The match between the two Asian teams is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Morkel's absence is considered a setback for the Indian team, as the fast bowling department is already facing challenges. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the fast bowling attack is considered weak. At the same time, Mohammed Shami is trying to get into rhythm after returning from injury, while young bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana do not have much experience in ODIs. In such a situation, Morkel's coaching was very important for the team.

Morne Morkel took over as the bowling coach of the Indian team in September 2024, when Gautam Gambhir was appointed the head coach. Abhishek Nair and Ryan Ten Doeschate are also included in the support staff as assistant coaches, while T. Dilip serves as the fielding coach. Recently, Sitashu Kotak was also added to the team as batting coach.
