India has also settled the account of the defeat in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup. Two years ago, England had defeated Team India by 10 wickets in the semi-finals.
Batting first after losing the toss in the second semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian team scored 171 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and gave England a target of 172 runs to win. Rohit Sharma was the highest run scorer for India.

Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel took the maximum wickets for India, both these bowlers took three wickets each. Besides, Jasprit Bumrah bagged 2 wickets for 12 runs.
Player of the Match: Axar Patel (IND) 3/23 (4) & 10 (6).
India would have gone to the final if the match was washed away by rain as there was no reserve day. In the beginning, Guyana's sky also scared the England camp. But in the end, Rohit did not need the help of rain. India won by showing dominance with bat and ball.
India confirmed the T20 World Cup final after 10 years with the victory in Daput. They last played the final in the short format World Cup in 2014. However, Sri Lanka lost the title by 6 wickets. After the first World Cup in 2007, the trophy is out of their grasp. If they beat South Africa in the final on June 29, their 17-year wait will end.
