IPL 2026 Trade and Retentions: The IPL retention announcement is scheduled for today. Several players have already been traded before this. Ravindra Jadeja has officially left CSK and joined Rajasthan Royals for ₹14 crore. Sanju Samson has also joined Chennai Super Kings. A total of 10 players, including Nitish Rana and Mohammed Shami, have changed teams. The IPL has announced all these trades through its official account.
Trade Deal between CSK and RR for Jadeja and Sanju
RR have secured the services of experienced all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, putting an end to weeks of speculation. The move was approved after initial confusion due to the lack of a place in the overseas team. The Cricbuzz report further states that "CSK had been trying to acquire Samson for the past three years." An IPL CEO, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the trade as a great deal for the Royals. Jadeja, on the other hand, will now play for the Rajasthan Royals, where he began his IPL career. Ravindra Jadeja is returning to Rajasthan Royals from Chennai Super Kings, having played for them for 14 years. He will receive ₹18 crore (approximately $1.8 billion).
Sanju Samson was traded to Chennai Super Kings and will continue to receive ₹18 crore (approximately $1.8 billion). Samson has played 177 IPL matches. CSK will be only the third franchise of his career. Since making his IPL debut in 2013, the senior pro has represented RR in all but two seasons—2016 and 2017—when he played for Delhi Capitals.
