After losing the 2-0 Test series against Australia, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has announced its 16-member squad for the upcoming two-match ODI series. This series will start from 12th February.

Sri Lanka Squads for ODI Series against Australia: The first match of the 2-match ODI series between Sri Lanka Cricket Team vs Australia will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo from 12 February (Wednesday). The second match will be played on the same ground on 14 February. After losing the 2-0 Test series against Australia, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has announced its 16-member team for the upcoming two-match ODI series. This series will start from February 12. Sri Lanka has retained middle-order batsman Charith Aslanka as the captain for this series, who has also captained the team earlier.

Experienced and key players have been retained in the announced squad, including names like Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahish Theekshana, Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara. These players have been part of Sri Lanka's main team and will give balance to the team in the ODI format.

Apart from this, Sri Lanka has also retained some players who have recently performed impressively in ODI cricket, including Janith Liyanage, Nishan Madushka and Nuwanido Fernando. These young players can infuse new energy into Sri Lanka's ODI team.

Sri Lanka's Test team failed to perform against Australia and suffered a crushing 2-0 defeat. However, in the ODI format, the team will enter the field with the intention of improving its performance and making a comeback. The team selection indicates that the selectors are trying to prepare a strong team with the right balance of new and experienced players. The ODI series between Sri Lanka and Australia will start from February 12, in which the host team will have a golden opportunity to avenge the Test defeat.

The teams will play two ODIs in Colombo on February 12 and 14, with Australia looking to gear up for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy.
