Mohammad Yousuf, the interim batting coach for the Pakistan men's squad, has decided not to travel to Sharjah for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan due to personal obligations. Due to his withdrawal, Abdur Rehman, the interim head coach, has also assumed the position of batting instructor. Just hours before the team's Wednesday afternoon departure for the UAE, Yousuf canceled his participation in the game.

Notably, the T20I series of three games is set to start on March 24, Friday. On March 13, Yousuf, a former Pakistani captain, was appointed as temporary head coach. Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), tweeted a fresh list of the Pakistan team's support personnel in the meantime. Yousuf was erroneously identified as the coach, and the cricket organization subsequently clarified that he would continue in his role as the batting coach. "I hear that since it's a temporary position, the coaching staff was named after the team.

This question should have been more pertinent if there had been a permanent staff, but since I have been given an interim position, my only responsibility is to attempt to win the series, said Rehman. Rehman responded that he has been doing this job for so long and that working with them will increase his confidence when questioned about leading a squad with many senior coaches. "I've been doing this work for 15 years. It's not like I'll be giving them orders.

In truth, having them by my side makes me feel more assured. Working with them is an honor; I must cooperate with them and benefit from their knowledge, he said. The Haroon Rasheed-led choices committee selected the Pakistani team for the T20I series against Afghanistan. Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf have been called back to the team, and Shadab Khan has been appointed captain.

Saim Ayub and Ihsanullah, who put on standout performances in the recently finished Pakistan Super League (PSL), have gotten their first calls to duty. Notably, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam have all received relaxation.
