New Zealand Squads for ODI Series Against West Indies: New Zealand cricket team has announced its squad for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, which begins on November 16 in Christchurch. Former captain Kane Williamson has been rested. Fast bowler Matt Henry has returned to the squad. He missed the final two matches of the recently concluded ODI series against England due to a calf strain. He is now fully fit and back in the squad.

Williamson recently announced his retirement from T20 international cricket. He wants to take a break from the ODI series and focus on preparing for the World Test Championship (WTC) series against the West Indies next month.

Kiwi head coach Rob Walter has expressed his delight at the return of Matt Henry to the New Zealand squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies. In a statement after the squad was announced, he said, "Henry is our senior bowler and his return is a great thing for us, as he can play a key role in the ODIs and the subsequent Test series."

Although New Zealand's injured list is growing longer. Lockie Ferguson (hamstring), Adam Milne (ankle), Mohammad Abbas (ribs), Finn Allen (foot), Will O'Rourke (back), Glenn Phillips (groin) and Ben Sears (hamstring) are all missing from the squad due to injuries.

Pacer Blair Tickner retained his place in the 14-player squad following some good efforts against England and has impressed coach Rob Walter.

“We couldn’t have asked for more from Ticks against England,” Walter said.

“He brought plenty of energy and his pace and bounce proved to be a big test for some of the best batters in the world.

“It was pleasing to see him come in at short notice and perform at that level and that’s a testament to the hard work he’s been putting in away from the group.

“It’s awesome to be able to keep rewarding guys who work hard and perform when they get the opportunity, and we know he’ll be a big asset for us in another important series."

Experienced all-rounder Mitchell Santner has been named captain of the team. Fast bowler Matt Henry is returning to the team after recovering from injury. Under Santner's captaincy, New Zealand recently defeated England 3-0 in the three-match ODI series.

New Zealand ODI Squad: Mitchell Santner (c), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Nathan Smith, Blair Tickner, Will Young.
