Mohammed Shami Will Not Return, As India Retain Same Squad for 2nd Test against Bangladesh

Team India Squad for 2nd Test Against Bangladesh: After Team India's victory in Chennai, the BCCI announced the India-Bangladesh second Test team on social media. Bengal cricketer Mohammed Shamir did not get a place in the Kanpur Test. The second Test of the series will start from September 27 in Kanpur.

"The Men's Selection Committee has retained the same squad for the second Test of the IDFC FIRST Bank Test series against Bangladesh. The second Test will be played in Kanpur from 27th September," Jay Shah, BCCI honorary secretary, said in a BCCI press release.

BCCI did not change the team for the first test. The 16 players who were in the Chennai Test team have been left behind. All but captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli performed well in the first Test against Nazmul Hossain Shanto's side. Naturally, Ajit Agarkar did not think of a change in the team.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir also did not want any changes in the team. There is no injury problem in the Indian camp either. So the management of the Indian team decided to go to Kanpur with 16 people from Chennai.

Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yash Dayal were not included in the playing eleven of the first Test match against Bangladesh, but all these players are present in the team for the second Test match.

India’s squad for the 2nd Test against Bangladesh: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal.

India's record at home has been excellent. Team India has shown amazing performance at home since 2012. Since then India has not lost a single Test series at home. That means since November 2012 India is undefeated in 17 consecutive home Test series. On the other hand, Bangladesh team came to India after defeating Pakistan 2-0 in the series. But it failed in the first Test against India.
