Kemar Roach to miss test series against England due to knee injury
The West Indies pacer will not play the test series against England due to a knee injury.
West Indies pacer Kemar Roach will be out of action when West Indies tour England for the test series in July due to a knee injury. The first test will begin on the 10th of July at Lords. Jeremiah Louis has been named as his replacement by the West Indies cricket board.
Recently Cricket West Indies announced that pacer Kemar Roach suffered a knee injury while playing a County Championship match due to which he won't be able to play in the upcoming test series against England. Roach was playing for Surrey in the English County Championships. The pacer had played in six matches for Surrey till now. In one of the matches he claimed figures of 6/46 against Warwickshire.
Selector Desmond Haynes made a statement by saying, "Kemar will be missed as the 36-year-old pacer has the experience of playing in English conditions and his skills would have been vital for the team. Haynes went on to say," Jeremiah Louis was waiting for this opportunity for some time and now he would be eager to showcase his talent to make an impression in England."
Jeremiah Louis has played first-class cricket for over 10 years for St Kitts and Nevis playing in 57 matches. The second test begins on the 18th of July at Trent Bridge while the third and final test begins on the 26th of July at Edgbaston.
A decent performance in England will surely be a big boost for West Indies cricket and captain Kraigg Braithwaite will hope for an impressive performance from his side.
