Team India's Squad for ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Soon after the announcement of the Indian men's team for Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team was selected for the Women's World Cup 2025 and the ODI series against Australia. Rohit Army's dream of winning the 2023 ODI World Cup on home ground was shattered, but it is hoped that Harman's Army will be able to fill that void.

The tournament will be played in India from September 30. This time some surprising decisions have been made in the selection. Fast bowler Renuka Thakur has returned to the team after getting fit, while aggressive opener Shefali Verma could not find a place. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the team in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup, while Smriti Mandhana has been chosen as the vice-captain. This will be Kaur's fifth ODI World Cup and her first as the skipper.

India and Sri Lanka will host the Women's ODI World Cup this year. This global tournament will start on September 30 and the final match will be played on November 2. The matches will be held in five cities of India and Sri Lanka, including M Chinnaswamy in Bangalore, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam and R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

This global tournament will be organized in India after 12 years. The first semi-final match will be played in Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, while the second semi-final match will be played in Bangalore on October 30. Both the teams reaching the final will get two days time for preparation. The title match of the Women's ODI World Cup will be played in Bangalore or Colombo on November 2.

Eight teams will participate in the Women's ODI World Cup, including India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Australia will enter this tournament as the defending champion. They defeated England in the final of the last World Cup played in New Zealand in 2022. Australia has won the title seven times and is the most successful team in the tournament history. India was earlier its sole host but the matches of the tournament will now be played in Bangalore, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam and Colombo. Colombo has been added because Pakistan will not come to India for ICC tournaments and the hybrid model was approved in the Champions Trophy earlier this year.

After playing against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the Indian team will play against South Africa on October 9 and Australia on October 12 in Visakhapatnam. The team will face England in Indore on October 19 and then face New Zealand in Guwahati on October 23. The Indian team will also face Bangladesh at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 26.
