India Won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Title: The Indian team on Sunday defeated New Zealand in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy and won the title for the third time. India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With this, India won the ICC tournament for the seventh time. In the final of the ICC Champions Trophy, New Zealand batting first scored 251 runs losing 7 wickets in 50 overs, in reply to this India won the title match with 6 balls remaining. India scored 254 runs losing 6 wickets in 49 overs. Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning four for India. The New Zealand team has once again lost in the final.

Batting first, New Zealand's team got off to a good start with openers Will Young and Rachin Ravindra. There was a partnership of 57 runs between the two. Varun Chakravarthy gave India its first breakthrough. He sent Young (15) back to the pavilion. Rachin Ravindra was out after scoring 37 runs in 29 balls. Kuldeep clean bowled him. Kane Williamson could only score 11 runs in 14 balls. Tom Latham contributed 14 runs in 30 balls. Glenn Phillips played an innings of 34 runs. In the 46th over, Mohammad Shami gave India a big breakthrough by dismissing Daryl Mitchell. Daryl Mitchell played a fighting innings of (63) runs in 101 balls hitting three fours.

Captain Mitchell Santner (8) was run out in the 49th over as the seventh wicket. Michael Bracewell played an innings of 53 runs (not out) hitting three fours and two sixes in 40 balls. New Zealand scored 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each for India. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami dismissed one batsman each.

Daryl Mitchell scored the highest 61 runs for New Zealand. Apart from him, Rachin scored 37 and Bracewell scored 41 runs. After winning the toss, New Zealand batted first in the Champions Trophy final and scored 251 runs in 50 overs by losing seven wickets.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a good start to the Indian team chasing the target of 252 runs. There was a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket between the two. Gill was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 50 balls. After a few balls, Virat Kohli was LBW after scoring only one run in two balls. Rohit returned to the pavilion after scoring 76 runs in 83 balls. Shreyas Iyer played an innings of 48 runs in 62 balls. He shared a 61-run partnership with Akshar but fell prey to Santner in the 39th over. Akshar returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs in 40 balls. Hardik Pandya was dismissed after scoring 18 runs in 18 balls. He was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson. KL Rahul played a brilliant innings of 34 not out in 33 balls. Ravindra Jadeja ensured India's victory by hitting a four on the last ball of the 49th over.

With this triumph, India have now surpassed Australia in the elite list of multi-time Champions Trophy winners, having previously won the title in 2002 (shared with Sri Lanka) and 2013 (defeated England in the final). This victory also marks redemption after their runner-up finish in 2017 and adds another prestigious ICC trophy to their collection.
