The new government has not been formed yet. The violence did not stop. In the midst of that, doubts have arisen about Bangladesh cricket team's visit to Pakistan. Bangladesh will start a two-Test series against Pakistan from 21 August. In this situation, it is not sure whether the Bangladesh cricket team will be able to go to Pakistan or not. Even Bangladesh's visit to Pakistan has become uncertain.
Bangladesh’s travel plans for the Tests set in Rawalpindi (August 21-25) and Karachi (August 30–September 3) appear uncertain in the current situation.
Pakistan wants series. An official news agency of that country's cricket board told PTI that they have given a new proposal to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the series to take place. The official said, "Pakistan Cricket Board has proposed that the Bangladeshi cricketers can leave the country long before the start of the series if they want. They will have no problem staying. Practice facilities will also be provided. But the Bangladesh Cricket Board has not given any reply yet.”
Bangladesh Cricket Board chief Nazmul Hasan Papon is not in the country now. Because of that the problem has increased. The official of the Pakistan Board said, "As Papan is not in the country, the work of the Bangladesh Cricket Board is stopped for the time being. That is why the problem is increasing. Even if the Pakistan board wants to make the series, we are looking at what the Bangladesh board has not decided."
The Bangladesh team was supposed to go to Pakistan on Monday. But that journey has been delayed by at least 48 hours. That is why there is uncertainty around the senior team series. The media of that country reported that the houses of several former and current cricketers of Bangladesh were vandalized. As a result, the situation worsened. There is no cricketer like Shakib Al Hasan in Bangladesh. Doubts have also been raised about how prepared the cricketers will be to play in these conditions.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced indicating that homes of some senior players have been attacked by mobs, further complicating the situation.
Reports of former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza's house being set on fire have also emerged amid the unrest. Apart from being Bangladesh's eminent cricketers, Mortaza was also a Member of Parliament from Sheikh Hasina's party.
