What a game we have seen here, an unbeaten 137 partnership wasn't enough to pull the Scorchers over the line but Bancroft and Cartwright certianly showed us a valiant effort after the game seemed all but over at 35-4. It was a contrasting tale for the Thunder's bowlers as Sandhu, Ahmed and Nair were all excellent. Green and McClenaaghan however were expensive and let the Scorchers back in with a chance, the fact that Watson didn't bowl meant there was no relief for those expensive overs. A good win for the Thunder though, speared by Khawaja at the top of the line-up in the first innings who excellent innings sent them on their way to a big total. Their third win moves them to within two points of the top four and keeps them in with a shot for qualifying for the later stages. The Scorchers lose their second game but remain joint top of the table and looking pretty, they showed today that even when they look down and out they can put in really gritty perfromances, unfortunately falling just short today. The Thunder win by three runs.
