Shaheen Shah Afridi, Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam have been Penalised for Breaching ICC Code of Conduct

The ICC imposed a fine on 3 star players of Pakistan for violating the ICC Code of Conduct.

Pakistan Cricket Team: Pakistan registered a spectacular victory in the tri-series against South Africa on 12 February. The joy of victory had not subsided when the ICC gave a big blow to Pakistan before the Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC imposed a fine on 3 star players of Pakistan for violating the ICC Code of Conduct. This has been confirmed by the ICC itself. The team's star bowler Shaheen Afridi is also included in this list.

In the match between South Africa and Pakistan, a heated argument was seen between the players of both the teams. Due to which the ICC has taken a stand. Star bowler Afridi was fined 25% of his match fee because he deliberately tried to obstruct the run of Matthew Breetzke. There was a collision between the two and later an argument was also seen.

"inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match."

Apart from Afridi, two other batsmen also became victims of ICC's action. Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam's match fees have been deducted by 10-10 percent. Both of them disturbed South Africa's Temba Bavuma with their celebrations after his dismissal. These batsmen have been punished for this bad act.

All players have accepted the sanctions imposed and there will be no formal hearings regarding the incidents.

In addition to the financial penalties, all three players have received one demerit point each on their disciplinary records. None of the players had any prior offences in the last 24 months.

Pakistan secured a historic win against South Africa, to reach the finals of the Tri-Nation series where they'll take on New Zealand on 14 February.
