Then Rohit appealed to him with folded hands not to record the audio. This video went viral and now Rohit has vented his anger on Star Sports regarding this.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma has accused Star Sports of breach of privacy and said if this continues, there is a danger of breaking the trust between fans, cricketers and cricket.
In the video clip aired on Star Sports by Samamic Media, Rohit can be heard saying, 'Brother, turn off the audio, an audio like that has got me in trouble.' In that video, Rohit was seen talking to Abhishek Nair, the former Mumbai player and the current coach of Kolkata Knight Riders.
But Rohit's request was not kept by the IPL broadcasting channel. Due to which Rohit expressed his anger on social media X. Rohit wrote in the post, " The lives of cricketers have become so intrusive that cameras are now recording every step and conversation we are having in privacy with our friends and colleagues, at training or on match days".
"Despite asking Star Sports to not record my conversation, it was and was also then played on air, which is a breach of privacy. The need to get exclusive content and focused only on views and engagement will one day break the trust between the fans, cricketers and cricket. Let better sense prevail".
As Mumbai is out of the IPL playoffs, Rohit is now getting a chance to dive well into India's World Cup plans. Hardik Pandya, who was his captain in Mumbai, will be his deputy in the World Cup.
