Pakistan Announced 15-Member Squad for the First Test against England Played to be in Multan
PCB has announced the Pakistani squad for the first test match against England. Shan Masood's captaincy is remain. 37 year old spinner Noman Ali has returned.
Pakistan vs England Test Series: The England team will soon tour Pakistan for a 3-Test series. On Tuesday, Pakistan Cricket Board announced a 15-member team for the first test of the series. The first test will be played in Multan from 7 to 11 October. This series is part of the World Test Championship 2023-25.
Shan Masood has been made the captain of the team. Saud Shakeel has got the responsibility of vice-captain. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has returned to Pakistan's 15-member team. Afridi was dropped from the second and final Test against Bangladesh earlier this month due to poor form.
37-year-old spinner Noman Ali has returned to the team for the first Test match against England. He did not get a chance in the series against Bangladesh. He has replaced Khurram Shahzad, who is injured. The Pakistani team recently lost the Test series against Bangladesh by 0-2.
In the Bangladesh series Abrar Ahmed had failed to perform well for Pakistan. On the other hand, Noman has taken 47 wickets in 15 test matches so far. Whereas Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali, who performed well in domestic cricket, have not been selected in the team.

Pakistan squad for 1st Test: Shan Masood (c), Saud Shakeel (vc), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The players selected for the first Test match against England have been withdrawn from the Champions One-Day Cup playoffs so that they can be given some rest before the series. All the players will gather in Multan on 30 September. The training camp will start from October 1
Pakistan are eighth in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 standings after their series loss to Bangladesh at home.
