IPL 2026 final would be played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The final was to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The local associations and authorities couldn’t meet BCCI’s requirements, so the venue was shifted to Ahmedabad, according to a BCCI source.
Qualifier 1 would be played at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on the 26th of May, while the eliminator and qualifier 2 would be played at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on the 27th and 29th of May, respectively.
Due to certain logistical considerations, the play-offs would be played at three venues as per sources. KSCA stated that, despite the arrangements, the BCCI allotted the games to other venues. The reasons for the shifting of venue are not known, but KSCA has stated that they respect the decision taken by the BCCI officials.
New Chandigarh was the venue for qualifier 1 and the eliminator match, while Ahmedabad hosted the qualifier 2 match and the final during the 2025 season. Normally, qualifier 2 as well as the final match is played at the same venue, but this season the winner of qualifier 2 will travel to a new venue to play the final.
Final is hosted by the defending champions, but this time around, there is a small change in the venue. RCB are the defending champions having won the last season, but if they make it to the final, they won’t enjoy home advantage as the final would be played in Ahmedabad. RCB have won 4 out of their 5 games at M Chinnaswamy Stadium this season and have lost just 1.
Their last two games would be played in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Currently, RCB are at the 3rd position with 12 points in the points table, while SRH are at the top with 14 points, and PBKS are at the 2nd position with 13 points. RR are at the 4th position with 12 points, while Gujarat Titans are at the 5th position with 12 points. As the tournament enters the final lap, the competition will get a lot more intense and thrilling.
