India Lost the 3rd ODI by 110 Runs, Sri Lanka Won the Series with 2-0

Team India had to face a sensational defeat in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. After the first match of the series was tied, Team India lost two consecutive ODI matches. Team India has lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka after 27 years.

Sri Lanka Beat India in the 3rd ODI and Won the Series 2-0: Team India has faced a sensational defeat in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Even in the third ODI match played in Colombo, Team India's batting proved to be a flop and as a result, it lost the series to Sri Lanka by 0-2. This defeat is also big because India has lost the ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years. Team India last lost an ODI series to Sri Lanka in 1997, but now this series has also ended.

Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first and scored 248 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the entire Indian team was all out for 138 runs in 26.1 overs. For Sri Lanka, Avishka Fernando scored 96 runs in 102 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes, while Kusal Mendis played an inning of 59 runs.

In bowling, spinner Dunith Velalage performed brilliantly and took five wickets for 27 runs in 5.1 overs. At the same time, Mahesh Tikshina and Geoffrey Wandersay got two wickets each. For India, captain Rohit Sharma scored the highest score of 35 runs, while Washington Sundar was out after scoring 30 runs and Virat Kohli was out after scoring 20 runs.

Completely Batting Failure of Team India
It can be said that there are more than one batsman in Team India but apart from Rohit Sharma, no batsman could show his strength on the spin friendly pitch of Sri Lanka. Talking about the third match, Shubman Gill was out after scoring just 6 runs. Virat Kohli could also score 20 runs. Rishabh Pant got a chance for the first time in the ODI series, he could score only 6 runs. Shreyas Iyer was out after scoring 8 runs, Akshar Patel was out after scoring 2 runs. Riyan Parag scored 15 runs. Shivam Dubey could contribute only 9 runs. Apart from Shubman Gill, all the batsmen became victims of spinners.

Magic of Sri Lankan Spinners
The defeat of the Indian team was decided by the Sri Lankan spinners. This time left arm spinner Dunit Vellalge wreaked havoc on Team India. This left arm spinner took 5 wickets in just 31 balls. Vellallage achieved the feat of taking five wickets for the second time in the series. Apart from him, leg spinner Geoffrey Vandersay took 2 wickets. Tikshan also got one wicket. Asita Fernando got one wicket.

This was India's first ODI series with new head coach Gautam Gambhir and team India it with quite one sided to a team which who don't even qualify to the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. Now things will be more complicated at Indian dressing room.
