India vs South Africa 2nd Test: The second and final Test of the two-match India vs. South Africa Test series is being played in Guwahati. The third day's play has ended. South Africa has scored 26 runs without losing a wicket in their second innings. Rickelton is unbeaten on 13 and Markram on 12. South Africa had a 288-run lead based on their first innings. The visitors' total lead now stands at 314 runs.

In this match South Africa won the toss and batted first and scored 489 runs in their first innings. In reply, India were bowled out for 201 in the first innings. Team India's batting was extremely poor, and they couldn't even avoid the follow-on. They had to score 289 runs, but they couldn't. However, South African captain Temba Bavuma decided not to enforce the follow-on and instead asked India to bat again. This meant the Indian team bowled for two days and were all out in half a day.
India resumed today at nine for no loss and lost all 10 wickets to make 192. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 58, while Washington Sundar made 48. KL Rahul was out after scoring 22 runs, Sai Sudarshan 15 runs, captain Rishabh Pant 7 runs, Ravindra Jadeja 6 runs and Nitish Reddy 10 runs. After losing one wicket at 95, India lost 7 wickets while reaching 122 runs. Dhruv Jurel could not even open the account. After this Sundar made a partnership of 72 runs with Kuldeep Yadav. As soon as Sundar was out, the team was reduced to 201 runs. Kuldeep was out after scoring 19 runs and Bumrah was out after scoring 5 runs. From South Africa's side, Jansen took 6 wickets, while Simon Harmer got 3 wickets. Keshav Maharaj took 1 wicket.
Now South Africa tightened their grip on the second Test, finishing Day 3 at 26/0 in their second innings after securing a commanding 288-run lead over India. Openers Ryan Rickelton (13*) and Aiden Markram (12*) safely negotiated eight overs before bad light halted play, extending the visitors’ overall advantage to 314 runs with two days remaining.
"Once we saw there was bounce and pace in the wicket, we tried to utilise it. Good day for the chaps - myself in particular. The spinners did a really good job when the ball wasn't moving too much. There was a bit of pace and bounce in the wicket, which was nice. We were preparing to field for two days."- Said Marco Jansen.
