India vs South Africa 2nd Test: The first day's play of the second test match between India and South Africa has ended. At the end of the day's play, South Africa had scored 247 runs for six wickets in the first innings. At the time of stumps, Senuran Muthusamy is present at the crease with 25 runs and Kyle Verne with one run.
India is playing in this match under the leadership of Rishabh Pant in the absence of regular captain Shubman Gill. India could not win the toss in this match also. India has made two changes in its playing eleven. Sai Sudarshan has been included in the team in place of Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy has been included in place of Axar Patel. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bat first. Aiden Markram was given a life on 4 when KL Rahul dropped his catch. He then shared an 82-run partnership for the first wicket with Ryan Rickelton. Markram was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah in the first session, ending the session.
In the very first over of the second session, Kuldeep Yadav had Ryan Rickelton caught out. Rickelton scored 35 runs. However, Temba Bavuma and Tristan Stubbs then added 84 runs for the third wicket, without losing a second wicket in the second session.
But the Indian bowlers made a comeback in the third session. Ravindra Jadeja took the first wicket of the third session in the form of Temba Bavuma, a brilliant catch by Yashasvi. Bavuma scored 41 runs. Kuldeep Yadav then took the big wicket of the new wicket in the form of Tristan Stubbs. Stubbs was out for 49, missing his half-century by 1 run.
