Cricket Australia has announced a 14-member team for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan. The Kangaroos will play a three-match ODI series against Pakistan at home starting November 4. The first match of the series will be played in Melbourne on November 4, in Adelaide on November 8 and in Perth on November 10.
Star all-rounders Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head will not be available for the three-match ODI series. They are on paternity leave ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Alex Carey has also been rested from this series so that he can prepare for the five-Test series starting in Perth from November 21. Captain Pat Cummins and other senior players Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell have returned to the ODI team after missing the series against England.
In the absence of Marsh and Head, Jake Fraser-McGurk will have a chance to stake his claim for opening. Fraser-McGurk will open the innings with Matthew Short. Aaron Hardy is another fast bowling all-rounder who is included in the team. The ODI series will start on November 4 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The remaining two ODIs will be played on November 8 and 10 at the Adelaide Oval and Perth Stadium.

Australian Chair of Selectors George Bailey commented, “This is our last ODI series before the Champions Trophy and the balance of the squad was focussed on that as well as continuing to focus on preparation of individuals for the upcoming Test Summer."
He added, “The one-day side had a great result in the UK, particularly given illness and injury challenges. We view this as an opportunity to expand on that achievement in preparation for next February in Pakistan.”
