Their crushing defeat of South Australia places them comfortably in second place, and firms them for a Sheffield Shield Final birth! Despite the best efforts of Drew's blunting and Manenti's bludgeoning of the Victorian bowling attack, the rest of the calamitous South Australian batting card collapsed akin to a cataclysmic catastrophe. Mitchell Perry was fantastic with 5/64 and stood up strongly in the absence of Fergus O'Neill who rolled his ankle badly. Matt Short is the well deserved Player of the Match for his 70 and 119 in each innings respectively. His first innings half-century was a lone hand and gave his team something to defend, while his second innings century powered Victoria into a commanding position, one they never relinquished.
