1. KL Rahul (LSG)
Rahul has distanced himself from Lucknow Super Giants boss Sanjeev Goenka since last year. Goenka publicly reprimanded Rahul for the team's failure. He also tried to settle the problem with the captain of the team after facing severe criticism in that incident. But the problem is not solved between them. Rather, the distance has increased.

Rahul no longer wants to play for Lucknow. Even Goenka's franchise doesn't want to keep him. According to sources, Lucknow authorities will release Rahul before the auction. Lucknow had a contract with the wicketkeeper-batter for 17 crore rupees

2. Shikhar Dhawan (PBKS)
In the last IPL, Shikhar Dhawan could not play except for the first few matches due to injury. He could not give success to Punjab Kings even as a captain. Under his leadership, the team did not make it to the IPL playoffs even once. Naturally, the Preity Ginter franchise is disillusioned with Dhawan. The Punjab authorities have decided not to hold him either. They are looking for a new captain to bring the team back to the road of success. A left-handed opening batsman may be released before the auction.

3. Faf Du Plessis (RCB)
Royal Challengers Bangalore snatched Du Plessis from Chennai Super Kings in the auction. But the hope of Bengaluru authorities was not fulfilled. RCB could not win the IPL even under the leadership of Duplessi. Duplessi could not take the team to the final in three years. Bengaluru authorities are not interested in keeping the skipper who was bought for 7 crores in the 2022 auction. This time it has been decided to release him.

IPL Teams Demanded Changes in the Rules
According to media reports, the franchises recently met the IPL officials. During this, the teams demanded changes in three rules of the IPL. In this meeting held before the mega auction, the franchisees demanded to extend the period of the mega auction by five years. Apart from this, teams should be allowed to retain four to six players and each team should be given at least eight Right to Match (RTM) options. However, no decision has been taken so far.
