ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024: The ICC has confirmed the panel of match officials for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. According to ICC's decision, no male official will be seen in the entire tournament. The reason for this decision is also special. This tournament will be played in UAE from October 3 to 18.

The ICC on Tuesday announced the line-up of match officials for the T20 World Cup. Only women have got a chance in this lineup. For this mega tournament, experienced umpires have also got a place in the panel, who already have experience of umpiring in the T20 World Cup.

A total of 13 match officials have been selected for the panel at the upcoming ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.  10 umpires and three match referees have been appointed as the ICC Match Officials to oversee the tournament.

Among these, Claire Polosak will umpire in the T20 World Cup for the fifth time, while Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams will take over as umpires for the fourth time. Sue Redfern, who served as TV umpire in the previous final, will be the umpire in the mega event for the fourth time.

India's experienced umpire GS Lakshmi will also be seen. Lakshmi has 12 years of experience. She is the first Indian umpire to officiate in a Test. Apart from these, Shandre Fritz and Michel Perera have been given the responsibility of match referee.

Match Referees: Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, Michell Pereira.

Speaking about the announcement, ICC Senior Manager – Umpires and Referees, Sean Easey said: “The ICC is proud to be contributing to the advancement of women in our sport. To be announcing this all-female lineup of match officials for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is wonderful.

"This group, selected as the most deserving umpires for this event following their recent form in bilateral and other cricket, are some of the very best from around the world." Sean said.

"We are confident that they will do a great job at this event. I wish them the best of luck as they oversee the world's top women's cricketers in what will be an exciting tournament for all involved." He also added.

The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 will feature 23 matches played across Dubai and Sharjah, with ten teams competing for the title.
