Virat Kohli Scored the Slowest Century in IPL history and BRUTALLY Trolled After

Virat Kohli completed his 67-ball century at Jaipur's Mansingh Stadium, ending up unbeaten on 113 runs. It is the joint slowest innings in the IPL. Manish Pandey also has a century off 67 balls. Bengaluru's Pandey scored a 67-ball century against Delhi Capitals in 2009.

Incidentally, Kohli's slow century saw Bengaluru lose the match by 6 wickets. Rajasthan won by 6 wickets against Bangalore's target of 184 runs for 4 wickets. Rajasthan's Jos Buttler scored a century on the ball that won the team.

But after RCB'S yesterday's loss Virat Kohli facing backlash from social media to cricket experts.

Yesterday after first innings Kohli said that I am not coming with any premeditation. I knew I couldn't be too aggressive, I just had to keep the bowlers guessing. It's just the experience of playing out situations. Even if there is dew, the surface is rough and dry, it will not be easy for the batsmen. I could not get under the ball in front of Ashwin. Here he could not slog towards mid-wicket, so he had to aim straight at the ground.

Slowest IPL century (by balls)

67 - Manish Pandey (Bengaluru) vs Deccan Chargers, Centurion, 2009

67 - Virat Kohli (Bengaluru) vs Rajasthan, Jaipur, 2024

66 - Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai) vs KTK, Mumbai, 2011

66 - David Warner (Delhi) vs Kolkata, Delhi, 2010

66 - Jos Buttler (Rajasthan) vs Mumbai, Mumbai,
2022

If Kohli's innings is seen in two parts, he had scored the first 67 runs in just 39 balls. But after this only 46 runs were scored in the next 33 balls. Due to this, the run rate of RCB also dropped.

Former Indian cricket team star batter Virender Sehwag was asked about Kohli's knock during the mid-innings break.

"I think RCB are 20 runs short. If I talk about Virat Kohli, the innings has been good. But the guys who had to accompany him, Glenn Maxwell, Cameroon Green, Dinesh Karthik did not come to bat, there was no Mahipal Lomror. Nobody was there at the end who could end. However, Virat Kohli's strike-rate could have gone up. Because when you hit 50 off 39 balls, then the strike-rate goes up, nears 200 even. But the other batters did not do anything. All the pressure was on Kohli," Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

"He is in form. That's his role that he will stay till the end. The other batters who have been picked by paying so much money, they should prove their mettle. Like Maxwell. But nobody did anything today."
