Asha Sobhana and Sajana Sajeevan's impressive performances in 2024 WPL helped them get selected in the five-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Leg spinner Sobhana claimed 12 wickets in 10 WPL games in the 2024 season with an average of 15.42 while all-rounder Sajana Sajeevan claimed 2 wickets in 9 WPL games while she registered an impressive strike rate of 158.18 with the bat .

Her last ball six against Delhi Capitals stole every fan's heart. Right-handed India batter Jemimah Rodrigues hasn't been included in the squad due to a back injury. The 24-year-old is undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA and will be disappointed to miss out after scoring 235 runs for Delhi Capitals in the 2024 WPL.

Leg spinner Asha was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament while sajana's last ball six highlighted her powerful hitting abilities. Radha Yadav and D Hemlatha have been included in the squad. Radha last played for India in the 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa while D Hemlatha last played for the national side in the 2022 Asia Cup final.

Mannat Kashyap and Minnu Mani haven't been selected in the squad as both players last played for the national side against Australia at the beginning of this year. India will face Bangladesh in the five-match T20I series from April 28th- May 9th. The Third and Fourth T20Is will be played in Sylhet and both games will be played in the night The series is seen as preparation for the T20I World Cup which will be held in Bangladesh in September-October 2024.
