ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024

Teams:
Total Ten Teams will participate in the tournament. In April 2022, the ICC confirmed the qualification process for the tournament. Bangladesh qualified for the tournament automatically as the hosts. Six teams Australia, England India, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies Qualified through previous edition of the tournament. One team Pakistan qualified through ICC ranking. Apart from these eight teams two teams Shri Lanka and Scotland qualified through qualification tournament held in UAE.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 teams and groups
Ten teams are divided into two groups of five.

Group A:
Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.

Group B: Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland.

Both India and Pakistan have been drawn in Group A with six-time winners and reigning Women’s T20 World Cup champions Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Hosts Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the West Indies will be joined by Scotland in Group B.

The semi-finals and the final will have reserve days.

The schedule was unveiled at an event in Dhaka, attended by Mr. Nazmul Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board alongside Geoff Allardice, CEO of the ICC and the Captains of India and Bangladesh women’s team- Harmanpreet Kaur and Nigar Sultana respectively.

India Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said: "I'm thrilled at the prospect of competing in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year. The growth of women's cricket over the past few years and especially Women's World Cups have been incredible. I am sure this event will be no different with competitive and high energy cricket to entertain the world."
