Vacation is over, Rohit-Kohli in Colombo to play the Sri Lanka Series
INDvsSL ODI Series: After the T20 World Cup, Rohit and Kohli went on vacation. Both are returning to cricket after a month break. Sri Lanka reached Colombo to play the series.
Rohit and Kohli in Colombo for Sri Lanka Series: After winning the T20 World Cup, the holiday is over. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to cricket again. Both reached Colombo to play the one-day series against Sri Lanka. They will start practicing from Tuesday.
The T20 World Cup final was held on June 29. Rohit and Kohli out of the field for a month after that. So they reached the island nation a few days before the start of the one-day series against Sri Lanka. Coach Gautam Gambhir will make them practice during the T20 series as they are not in the game. Kohli arrived in Colombo on Monday afternoon. Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav and Harshit Rana arrived in Colombo on Sunday evening along with skipper Rohit.
Tuesday is the third match of the India-Sri Lanka T20 series. He has planned to start practicing with the cricketers of the one-day team from this day. Suryakumar Yadav's team has won the series by winning the first two matches. The three-match one-day series will begin from August 2.
SL vs IND ODI Series
The ODI series will start on August 2 in Colombo, with all three matches being played at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. The second ODI will be played on 4th August and the last match of the series will be played on 7th August. Former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel is expected to join Gambhir's coaching staff as bowling coach from the home series against Bangladesh in September.
Shreyas Iyer's Returns to Indian Team: Shreyas Iyer will also return to the national team from the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He played the last limited overs match for India against South Africa in December last year. All these players included in the ODI team will practice in Colombo under the supervision of assistant coach Abhishek Nair.
