Let us tell you that with this defeat, the Kiwi team has registered an unwanted record in the history of the World Test Championship. In fact, in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC History), New Zealand is the only team that has not won any Test match on foreign soil. The WTC was launched in August 2019. Since then, the Kiwi team has not been able to win a single Test match on foreign soil in the WTC.
With this victory, Sri Lanka has now won three consecutive test matches and bolstered its hopes of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final at Lord’s next June.
