Royal Challengers Bangaluru's Bowlers Facing Heavy Criticisms after yesterday's lost against Kolkata Knight Riders

Chasing the target of 183 runs, Kolkata's two openers Sunil Narine and Phil Salt were devastating in the power play. They both scored 85 runs in just six overs. After that, Kolkata's task became easier, but Venkatesh Iyer secured Kolkata's big victory with a storming fifty.

Despite having a star-studded batting lineup, Royal Challengers Bangalore have always been lagging behind in bowling. This season is no exception.

After Yesterday's Match former cricketers, cricket experts and even commentators are heavily Criticising RCB for their bowling. Some these are:

Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes the Royal Challengers cannot possibly win the tournament with such a bowling attack.
“Impossible for @RCBTweets to win the IPL with this bowling attack .. #OnOn #IPL2024live,” Vaughan posted on Social Media site 'X'.

Tom Moody, the former Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach said Tom Moody suggested playing two foreign pacers in Bengaluru. He allowed Ferguson and Topley to play. Aljari Joseph is currently the only foreign pacer playing in Bengaluru's XI.

He posted "#RCB have no choice but to play two overseas specialist pace bowlers. #Ferguson and #Topley must start. #IPL24,"

India's former bowling all-rounder Irfan Pathan said, "Faf should have bowled maxwell in the power play. KKr did bowl Anukul in power play which worked in a way of economy,”

“Where are the bowlers? They don’t have good bowlers in IPL 2024. For me, bowling is an area of concern. What did they do with Yuzvendra Chahal? He was their best bowler, but he was not retained. He is one of the legends of the game,” Harbhajan Singh told Star Sports.
He also added “They also had Wanindu Hasaranga, but he was also released. You can’t win matches by releasing big players. Barring Mohammed Siraj, I don’t find any bowlers who can win matches for the team. Even Siraj is struggling for form. They rested Karn Sharma from the match against KKR,”

With the loss to KKR, the RCB have fallen to the sixth spot in the IPL 2024 table with an NRR (net run rate) of -0.711.
