The left-arm seamer's feet became entangled in the rope that holds the net erect during his follow-through and he fell awkwardly on his bowling arm, damaging his left shoulder. According to sources, the 31-year-old will remain in Lucknow and is consulting with BCCI medical officials regarding the next steps. It is unknown whether he would fly to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, as this is subject to further discussion.

Meanwhile, in another major setback for LSG, captain KL Rahul injured himself while trying to stop a boundary in the second over of the first innings against RCB on Monday, May 1. The LSG captain lunged to save the boundary off Faf du Plessis' bat, injuring his leg in the process.
A stretcher was called to remove him from the pitch, but Rahul was able to shuffle off the pitch with minor assistance. An official report on his injury is anticipated, but things did not look good for the star batter, who would most certainly miss the rest of the game against RCB.
