Jhye Richardson will miss the three-match One-Day International series in India due to a hamstring injury. Jhye Richardson of Australia has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series in India due to a recurrence of a hamstring injury, putting his participation in the Indian Premier League 2023 in jeopardy.

Richardson suffered the injury in the Big Bash League in January. He did not play any Marsh Cup or Sheffield Shield cricket after missing the Perth Scorchers' BBL title run. His injury resurfaced as he attempted a comeback in a domestic match in Perth, where he bowled only four overs for Fremantle before leaving the field for scans.

The 26-year-old was named to Australia's 16-man One-Day International squad for the three-match series in India, which begins on March 17 in Mumbai. Nathan Ellis has been named to replace Richardson in the Australian squad. The 28-year-old has played three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 Internationals for Australia, taking three and fifteen wickets respectively. Richardson will most likely miss the IPL in 2023. If Jhye Richarson is unable to recover in time for his debut with the five-time champions in IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians will be dealt another major blow.

MI purchased him for a base price of 1.50 crore. MI will have to compete in this edition without pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out since September 2022 and is scheduled to undergo back surgery.
