India Won the 1st T20I, Defeated Sri Lanka by 43 Runs and Took 1-0 Lead in Three Match Series

India Beat Sri Lanka by 43 in 1st T20I: The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka was played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Team India won this match by 43 runs. Chasing the score of 214 runs, the entire Sri Lankan team India was limited to 170 runs only. For India, Parag took three wickets and Akshar Patel took two wickets.

Earlier, batting first, India scored 213 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 58 runs in 26 balls for Team India. While Pant scored 49 runs in 33 balls. Pathirana took 4 wickets for 40 runs for Sri Lanka. Hasaranga also took 1 wicket.

In reply chasing huge total of 214 runs Lankan openers Pathum Nissanka (79) and Kusal Mendis (45) made a good start by adding 84 runs for the first wicket in eight overs, but when both of them went, the wickets started falling. After this, no batsman could play by staying on the wicket. It is true that the required run average was continuously increasing, but it was not like that his last eight batsmen could not even touch the double figure.

The positive with Sri Lanka was that they had wickets in hand. When Sri Lanka had to score 74 runs in the last six overs to win, it had 9 wickets left in its hands, but in the 15th over of the innings, Axar Patel took two wickets, from here the situation became in India's favour. And the entire Sri Lankan team was all out to 170 runs in 19.2 overs.
