Morne Morkel as Team India's New Bowling Coach: The search for a bowling coach was going on since Gautam Gambhir took over as the head coach of Team India and in this sequence, the names of many legendary bowlers of world cricket had come up, but now according to the report of Cricbuzz, South Africa's Former fast bowler Morne Morkel has been appointed as the chief bowling coach of the Indian team and his tenure will start from September 1.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah himself has given this information to Cricbuzz, Team India will start the Test series against Bangladesh from September 19 and this will be the first task for Morkel as a bowling coach. Earlier there was also news of Morkel going on a tour of Sri Lanka. But due to being busy in a league, he was not available.

Gautam Gambhir recently became the head coach of Team India captained by Rohit Sharma. After this Abhishek Nair was given the responsibility of batting coach. According to the report of Cricbuzz, now Morne Morkel has been made the bowling coach. Although T Dilip was the fielding coach even during the time of Rahul Dravid, he will still continue to fulfill his responsibilities. Team India is currently on rest and the two-match Test series against Bangladesh will start from September 19. A completely new coaching staff can be seen in this.

Morkel's Experience in Coaching
Morne Morkel has considerable coaching experience in international cricket. Before this he had worked as the bowling coach of Pakistan team. Even before this, there was a possibility that Morne Morkel would be the new bowling coach of Team India, now this has been confirmed.

With IPL franchise LSG, Gambhir was the mentor and Morkel served as the bowling coach. Morkel remained LSG’s bowling coach even after Gambhir moved to KKR ahead of IPL 2024 season.

Morne Morkel's International Career
Talking about Morne Morkel's career, he has played 86 test matches for South Africa and taken 309 wickets. He has also played 117 ODI matches, in which he has 188 wickets in his name. If we talk about T20 International, here he has taken 47 wickets after playing 44 matches. That is, he has bowled very lethally during his career, now the bowlers of the Indian team will be able to take advantage of his experience.

Morne Morkel replaces former India pacer Paras Mhambrey in the role. Mhambrey had a great stint under head coach Rahul Dravid. Their contract ended with India claiming the T20 World Cup trophy in June this year. During the Sri Lanka tour, NCA bowling coach Sairaj Bahutulle was the interim bowling coach.
