Australia vs India Sydney Test Day 1: The first day's play between India and Australia is over. India had scored 185 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia has scored nine runs in the first innings after losing one wicket till stumps. On the last ball of the day's play, Jaspreet Bumrah got Usman Khawaja caught by KL Rahul. Stumps were declared as soon as Khawaja was out. He could score only two runs. Australia's team is currently trailing by 176 runs. Currently, Sam Constas is unbeaten on the crease after scoring seven runs.

In this 5th test match of the series, acting captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and decided to bat but the Indian top order failed once again. India's first innings was limited to 185 runs. The Indian team could play only 72.2 overs. Rishabh Pant scored the highest 40 runs for the team. Apart from this, Ravindra Jadeja scored 26 runs, captain Jaspreet Bumrah scored 22 runs, Shubman Gill scored 20 runs, Virat Kohli scored 17 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 10 runs.

Apart from these, the rest of the batsmen could not even touch the double digit mark. KL Rahul could score four runs, Prasidh Krishna three runs and Mohammad Siraj three runs. Nitish Reddy could not open the account. For Australia, Scott Boland took four wickets, while Mitchell Starc got three wickets. Pat Cummins took two wickets, while Nathan Lyon got one wicket.

The Indian team got a wicket on the last ball of today. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed opener Usman Khawaja (2). KL Rahul took his catch in the slip. There was also an argument between Bumrah and Constas in the same over. Australia has scored 9 runs on the loss of one wicket in 3 overs.

Australia is currently leading 2-1 in the 5-match Test series. India started with a win in Perth but Team India had to face 2 big defeats in the next 3 Test matches. During this, the Gabba Test was drawn. Now Team India will have to win the Sydney Test at all costs to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and remain in the race for the final of the World Test Championship.
