This great match will be played in T20 format between the second and fourth week of September. According to a report by Cricbuzz, all these matches are going to be held in Asia Cup. Although India was given the hosting of Asia Cup 2025, but due to the current political tension between India and Pakistan, it has been decided to organize it in a neutral country.
A report states that the ACC has recently decided that whenever the BCCI or PCB gets the chance to host the tournament, it will be held in a neutral country. This decision has been taken to avoid the controversy of the Indian and Pakistani teams not wanting to travel to each other's countries.
Asia Cup 2025 will be played in T20 format. There will be a total of 19 matches and it can be played between the second and fourth week of September. But so far no information has been revealed about its venue and dates. This time, apart from India and Pakistan, eight teams - Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong will participate in the tournament. Last time Nepal also participated, which is not a part of the tournament this time.
Sri Lanka and UAE are the frontrunners in the hosting race. However, BCCI will remain the official host. Something similar happened in the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan was the host, but the BCCI refused to send the team. After which India's matches were shifted to Dubai. In the Champions Trophy 2025, India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in a one-sided match. The team captained by Rohit Sharma dominated Pakistan in every field.
The last time Asia Cup was organised was under the co-hosting of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Team India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final. India is the most successful team of this tournament which has won the Asia Cup title eight times. Whereas, Sri Lanka has won the tournament six times and Pakistan twice.
